Surprise!

And a discount code for you

Over the last 8 months, I’ve been thinking a lot about why I do things, including this newsletter. I’ve felt my priorities shift over the last couple years - I no longer feel like I have to constantly be productive. There’s no point in pushing myself if I never take the time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. It’s great, but I also have to find new ways to motivate myself.

As part of that, I found myself chasing a sense of normalcy. Some of that was trying to throw myself back into technical writing like it was 2022. The feeling wasn’t helped by the fact that I resurfaced at a time when it feels like creativity is under attack by AI marketing. At first, it felt like an unwinnable fight. Now it feels like when I was in high school and constantly in trouble for being covered in paint - a rebellion that has made my life richer.

So I’ve touched grass, fallen back in love with community, and started drawing again. Who knows if this newsletter will ever be consistent, but I’d love to hear what you want out of it. All you have to do is reply back!
